Today I ran over to Belly Bump over my lunch hour. Belly Bump is an adorable little baby bearing boutique in Rockbrook Village that a) I received a gift card to for Christmas and b) I received an email notifying me of their closing at the end of the month. I will get into maternity clothes at a later date but for now, I am going to say that I am seriously as big as a house. I came to the realization while trying on materni-wear today and I am sure if I am already large and in charge, this babe is going to be a biggy.
This is what I looked like at 15 weeks whence Snowball swam in my stomach…
I refuse to post a picture of my jelly belly at this juncture. I will only state that it does not look like this. Come to think of it, I don’t know if my tummy has looked that taut since I squeezed out a tot.
Perhaps it’s the copious amounts of junk food I consumed while Mountaineering. Perhaps it’s the lack of exercise in the gym during this gestation (something I very much prided myself on last time around) or perhaps it’s simply because I will never have the stomach of a 19 year old again … not saying I ever did.
Regardless or reason, there is no way this babe is going to be a tiny little tater. My tummy is far too bent out of shape to have a pint-sized peanut growing in it. Though the books say that Grin is the size of a Gala apple, I’m quite certain there may be an entire tree growing inside my tum. I suppose I can’t really gauge Grin’s growth on what it was like last time … it’s not truly comparing apples to apples.
