There are a few cha-cha-cha-changes coming your way at Baby on the Brehm. One of which is a new weekly posting Music on the Mondays.
I love music. I think I was a Gleek before Gleeks existed. Not in the “I-can-sing-any-song-and-make-it-sound-like-Barbara-Streisand-like-Rachel-Barry” sort of way. But more like, I love music and I’d be lying if I didn’t fess up to singing in non-music classrooms in high school with one of my then BFFs just so we could bust out some harmonies. Yeah… I’ve always been this cool.
I like to listen to all kinds of music — everything from the Beatles to James Taylor to Jim Brickman to Chicago to Garth Brooks to Phish to Eminem to Dan Zanes to Taylor Swift {I know. I hate to admit it.}. And though I listen to more Family Folk Songs on Pandora these days than music that I might choose to bust a groove to, I still find that music is a huge part of my days. There was a lot of music in the household I grew up in… Chicago, Melissa Manchester, Bette Midler, and Sinatra and so it seemed as if I always had a soundtrack to life. When I’m with the boys, we have something playing on the iPhone or in the car 96.4% of the time. And when I’m at work, I have more subdued soundtrack streaming.
As I drove to work on a harried Monday morning a month or two ago, this little gem popped on the radio. I immediately smiled. I immediately cranked it up. And by the time I got to work, I was in a much better mood. And it made me think, I am going to start sharing music on Mondays. And since bringing a blog to fruition currently takes the same amount of time as it does to gestate a human, I am finally getting around to delivering this brainchild. So here you go. Each week, I will post another tune for your listening pleasure. The choices will run the gammut so get ready for more mama madness with Music on the Mondays. You may not be a fan of this type of tune … let me know what’s trending on your playlist and have an absolutely crazybeautiful week ahead!
