If you’ve driven on the interstate in or around Omaha, you’ve likely seen a billboard for Methodist Women’s Hospital. To clarify… I’m actually not completely sure that it is for Methodist but it’s for a hospital, in Omaha, where babes are born {hmmm…I wonder what Professor James would have to say about the efficacy of that ad…but I digress}. Anyway, the ad reads something like, “Have the birth experience of a lifetime”. I just love that ad. I mean… although I will forever describe my birth experience with Jonah as magical, I don’t know that it had a single thing to do with the hospital at which I delivered. Turns out, I’d delivered Barrett there two years prior and that was, well, notsomagical. And so that ad, where they seemingly liken giving birth to visiting the happiest place on earth, always brings a chuckle.
Unless it’s the kind with the terry cloth robes, that is. Then, I say, bring it on.
