Tonight, we will set the clocks in our house back an hour before we hit the sack. Because tonight, we fall back. And it will be glorious. Because we will get an extra hour of uninterrupted slumber. And we will wake up feeling like it’s a brand new day. We can take on the world. With that extra hour, we will cross many more to-do’s off our ever growing list. And we will head back to work on Monday, so very refreshed.
NOT.
Even though we will turn their little green clock back tonight, the chances of our bouncing little boys with boundless bundles of energy staying deep in slumber through the extra-gifted hour are slim to none. But that extra hour is nice in theory. Daylight Savings Time, yet another way your universe changes with kids.
We’ve often attempted to tinker with their internal clocks a little bit beforehand but tonight, we plan on tucking them in a little late and crossing our fingers that they are so exhausted, they completely forget to wake for that extra hour. And I’m fully confident that will work {ahem.}.
What do plan to do with your extra hour? Sleep? Get in a long run? Go to church early? Or just go about your day as planned?
Regardless, remember to turn your clocks back tonight if your envisioning an extra hour of shuteye, should you be so lucky. I’ll call you at sunrise to make sure you got the memo.
