It truly seems unimaginable. That there was a time without you. Because you transformed our lives in such a way that we never would have known to ask for.
From the very place where you began, you were a big heart in a small package.
You ask questions about things we wouldn’t have even thought of as important and leave us wanting to know the answer, too.
You are downright silly and sneakily smart. And possess a penchant for detail. And are on a daily quest for gathering knowledge. About anything. And everything. You get frustrated easily and can give up too quickly. Because you “only want to be good at things”. And then you regroup and retackle.
You talk… And we genuinely want to listen. Because it’s likely to be insightful or entertaining or produce laughter. Even when you interrupt, which at five, you do quite often. Because the apple doesn’t fall far from that tree. Of always having something to say. To add. To contribute.
You have a giggle… That your father would bottle if he could. And carry it with him. Next to his heart.
You can be manipulative. And bossy. And then, a moment later as tender as they come. And then notsomuch, once again.
You are kind. So kind that you are just learning how to fight back. But scrappy and full of passion.
You consider yourself to be a third parent to your middle brother. And he thinks you hung the moon.
Your imagination, quite possibly, supersedes any other that I’ve met.
You love superheroes… Particularly The Flash. And you love building with Legos. And drawing picture after picture… after picture. And “the only sport you want to ever do, is running”. And right now, you want to marry a little blonde-haired girl… “But only once you grow up and reach marriage age.”
You truly believe everyone should like everyone. You have a love for the big man upstairs.
