Happier than
…a hog in mud.
…a woodpecker in a lumber yard.
…a witch in a broom factory.
…dracula at a blood drive.
…a camel on Wednesday.
…a bird with a french fry.
…a unicorn eating cake on a rainbow.
Happier than a breastfeeding mama when her babe who abstained from a bottle for 4 months, finally caves and gives mama a little freedom.
No matter what idiom you choose, when you get this picture, of an empty bottle…
you are happier than happy.
Harrison had his first day {and night} apart from me since coming home from the NICU at 6 weeks old. He spent an overnight with grandma and grandpa, his brothers, 3 bottle options, and 3 sippy cup options. And now, he is back on the bottle. Thank you, sweet Jesus… and grandma. I mean, I love the little chap, but I need to be able to get away, every now and then. And for the last 4 months {outside of two random successes}, since he had thrush, that was not really an option.
Though there may have been some dust on the bottle, we will not be letting that happen again and will be going back to at least one bottle a day for this boy. The one year mark is fast approaching which means, for us, weaning is, too. So bottle it up, kid! And sippy cup, we’ll see you soon, too.
It’s the little things, really. That make you happier than… or maybe just as happy, as this.
