Just A Sprinkle

Most of my close gal friends are mamas. Some have one babe. Some have two. Some have three. And this one… well, she’s having her fourth. I know, she doesn’t look a day past 17 but this mama has three little men. And will soon be welcoming, a little lady. {And just in case you’re wondering, we still do not have plans to try our luck.}

So what do you do for a mama who’s been there… done that… 3 times? Welp. You Sprinkle her, of course. Fourth time mamas don’t usually need a full shower {although, most would probably die for an actual full shower}. I mean, they usually still have a few of the big things left over and caked with spit-up, poop, and the like {even if she’d done a bit of a clean sweep after Mr. 3;)}. But as her friends, we decided she may need some binkies. Some bottles. Some clothes. And of course, a little bit of pink in her life.

So we found a date. Ordered the invites via Tiny Prints. And thought pink. And no, that’s not a smudge. The invites were printed to perfection. But I don’t need you calling up my friend, Melissa, to RSVP or knocking on her door to meet her. And once you see the food she made, you may wish you could.

Lucky for me, I co-hosted {and I use that loosely as my counterpart did the majority of the dreaming up and execution} with a very creative mama and one of my BFFs, Melissa. I mean… look at those little pumpkins. With mustaches. And the little pink Miss on the end there. Adorable. And a perfect complement to our loose “theme”… Three Men and A Little Lady.

We played one brief trivia game. And chatted and chatted and chatted. And noshed on the spread. Which, IMO, was not too hot. Not too cold. Just right for a light jacket. {Name the movie…} I mean, the eats and treats were basically Mary Poppins in my book. Practically pinky perfect in every single way. Pink wafers. Pink bevs. Dripping pink hearts. Pink fruit. Pink {Eileen’s} cookies. I mean, if this baby is somehow actually a boy, pink’s still going to be his signature color {Which, FWIW, I totally dig. My boys look amazing in pink. For real.}. And also a few savory treats for good measure. Just the right mix for an 11 am affair.

The mama-to-be-to-four got to hang with her girls for a bit. Free of six little boy hands. At least for an hour or two. And also got some gifts for the girl. Including… a few reallly incredible blankets. Any one of which I gladly would have smuggled and laid on the ground for a nap. And two that people even made. Like, with their bare hands. And tools for blanketing.

And she also snagged some other really adorable stuff {I mean. Girl stuff. Way more fun than boy stuff}. Take a look at this tote bag from Land’s End. I imagine the bag is for her to tote all her children around. And I think it will fit the bill. And, just FYI, this cute cute cute cute bag had the babe’s name on it smack dab in the front. Isn’t that the most fantastic gift wrap you’ve ever seen? I’m always yanking something at the last minute out of the bag stash. But if I’m ever that prepared again, you can bet I’m stealing this idea. {I removed the name for the blog… not sure that mama is ready to share with the masses}

Every guest got to leave with a their pick of Essie polish {Again, Melissa’s brainchild. Can I reiterate how happy I was to be wearing clean underwear and to not have baby snot on my shirt? And yet she managed to tie little tags on polish bottles. And actually go purchase ten different hues of pink}.

And while everything about the Sprinkle felt just lovely, the very best part of it all was getting to spend time with some of my very favorite mamas. And gab like girls. And to Sprinkle the beauty-full mama of honor just as she deserves.
