I can remember hearing about her. My friend, Kristen and I were heading to a Women of Faith retreat together shortly after the diagnosis had been determined. It was Kristen’s friend, April. She was one of her best friends from high school. The mama to two little girls. The husband to one fantastic man. And then, cancer. I started following her story. I started following her because I wanted to support my friend. And I wanted to pray for April. But I’d never met April. And yet, I felt so connected to her story. So I kept following. Kept asking Kristen for updates. Kept praying. And she started to get better. Like, against all odds, better.
Thanks to April, Kristen, Chastin, Andy, Missy, Abe, my in-laws, everyone who sent things in the mail {Including the fabulous Wonder Woman ornament!!}… those were just the people who helped me today. Today. It’s a good day to have had. Even when it was a loooooow day. It was a good day to have had. And I do believe, tomorrow will be even better.
