This girl. This, is Molly. Omaha Mama. #GirlMama. Owner of Sweet P & Fi.
You guys know. I sorta can’t dress. Like, if you looked in my closet, you’d think, “one of these things is not like the other…” because I can’t stick to a style. I really struggle with spending coin on clothing. And truly. For the most part, I wear expanda-wear throughout the week. Most from Target. Some from Athleta. And then, a very special smattering of graphic tees.
So, Molly and I decided to get together. Have a mom-date. It was me. Molly. And our friend, Erin. And allllll of the Sweet P inventory. I told Mols, “I really struggle with buying things because I want to be able to wear them to the park with the kids and somehow, also on a date night.”
And Miss Molly went to work.
She picked out four outfits that I could take from weekday to weekend. That were extremely affordable. And… that are trending for fall.
The raggedy jeans are Target from two seasons ago that I got 2 for $29.99. The converse are my go-to summer sneaks. And the wedges are Toms that I splurged on last year right after diagnosis. Because no matter how much weight you lose during chemo, your shoes still fit.
So let me show you what Molly came up with… and again, please know that I am def trying to be a model. It’s my next goal. I think I can totally rock the Blanche on the runway.
This Chevron dress, paired with my tennies, is honestly just right for the dog days of summer! It is knit, lightweight and I didn’t even wear a bra with it {clearly}. And it was long enough that my kids wouldn’t question if I was going to work the bars during the day.
And then, Molly said, “Now. Add the vest and the necklace.” And you guys… I nearly hurled. Molly knew my feelings about the Vestet. She knew I questioned how something that, to me, was so reminiscent of 1987 meets Joe Dirt, could make an outfit better. Because I’m late to the trends. But… she said, “Every place will have this this fall.”
So. I put it on. And honestly. Don’t we all think this actually looks pretty darn cute? Like, I could totally wear this out with the girls AND I wouldn’t break the bank to do it.
So then. Camo. You guys. I would have NEVER picked a camo shirt. The only camo I’ve ever worn has been an adorable #boymom shirt that got me through chemo. Otherwise, a hunter I am not. But Molly said, “Ashli. Trust me.” And gosh darn it. I loved the shirt. Loved. Totally comfy. Cute. And easy. Molly paired it with a long necklace and then, these adorable Moto Jeggings {that I also would have never tried on} with zippers. I’ve linked to the Pink camo shirt but Molly will have this classic camo ditty up soon. And I might actually have to go back and get it. She actually will have the Moto Jeggings {which feel like you are wearing pajamas = perfect for this mama} available this fall in white, black, and navy. I ended up buying the black {in M} as I felt they suited my “figure” better but when I saw the pics, I knew Molly knew what she was doing when she paired the white with the camo. Totally cute. Then Molly gave me this thing. This thing that just trying to figure it out in a store would totally turn me off and I was like, “hmmmm. MMMMM k, Molly. You crazy.”
But I went with it. Because she said, “this will transform any tee shirt into an outfit.”
And you know what?! She was freakin’ right! Here is the Taupe Ruffled Vest in full force. I’m not gonna lie… getting it on was a little questionable. But not as hard as I would have given it credit for.
But apparently ruffles = all the rage again this fall. And, I felt like it accented the outfit without accenting my hips which truly, was a happy note for this mama. Also… the hot necklace… also Sweet P.
And this. This is a totally typical mama day for me. Especially post-gym or shower. Target jeans. Snuggly t-shirt. And hanging out with a kid {no. this darling is not mine, clearly. But she is a little Sweet P. Or Fi.}So, Molly dressed up a smidge taking the Sweet P staple green Tee with a canvas tote, headband, and necklace from her shop. Bam. Mom chic.
And I even felt like I wanted to walk out in this whole outfit. Totally my schtick.
And of course, the graphic tee. Molly knows me. This. This is my non-workout day uniform during the school year. And yes. The phone. My accessory. I love love love this Mom Life graphic tee in the pretty red hue that also happens to be as soft as my favorite jams. I could wear this shirt 24/7. In fact, I have a variation of it and I have, actually, worn it from morning to bedtime. And then to bed. Because #momlife. And then, dress it up for Saturday brunch with your gal pals or Sunday brunch with the fam by throwing this fun little ditty over the top before you rush out the house. This little Leopard print gives you some flare and also, with the forgiving fabric you can throw it in your front seat and shake off the Goldfish crumbs to dress up and drab tee at the last minute. And again, anytime I can slip on my sneaks, I’m pretty much in love with the look.…
So. I don’t know about you but I love Molly. I love Sweet P & Fi. I love that she does affordable, trendy clothes that are actually great quality. I love that she offers free shipping. And I love that she pushes me out of my boring little style box to have some fun with fashion.
So, for fall — the Vestet, the camo, the Moto, the ruffles, and graphic tees… all will be around and seen from celebs to Wal-Mart.
And maybe, a parachute skirt every now and then…
