During the Holiday season of 2015, Ashli (me. the mama who writes here) was going through chemotherapy for breast cancer. She had been diagnosed in the fall and began treatment that took her through the holiday times. She anticipated that the Holidays would feel extra-difficult that year because of the chemo and being without hair and such but instead, it was this time in her life where peace truly surpassed understanding. She was so surrounded by the goodness of her friends, family, and even strangers, that she felt completely filled with the holiday spirit.
She decided that year to try to pull off a goodness giftaway. The hope was that she could get people to give free goodness. Friends could nominate their friends every day via her facebook page and then, the business who was featured that day would give the product away to one winner. It would not be based on sharing a post or liking a page, just giving a virtual shoutout to a friend who fit the days criteria.
That first year, 12 awesome gifters gave. As well as another group who gave for a NICU basket giftaway. And then, there was a Valentine’s giftaway that same year.
The next year, Ashli asked again, and businesses and people stepped up to gift. And again, in 2017, the same result.
The whole hope is that the companies/brands/gifters will get a little pub for being great Holiday or year-round gift ideas and the people who are nominating will feel happy to be able to potentially gift their friend something without laying out any cash. And ultimately, it’s a win/win/win. FREE LOVELY GOODNESS. Oh how much happiness this brings me (ashli;).
