Happy last day of 2014! If you’re as cool as me, you have zero plans for tonight and may only see a ball drop via Netflix. Hey, that’s the season we’re in, people. I plan to hang with my four fave boys, read some Amy Poehler, watch a flick, and retire early for the evening with the hubs. If you’re not like me, I hope you’ll have a glass for me, kiss someone memorable at the stroke of 12, and for goodness sakes, drive responsibly {There’s my motherly advice for the day}.
This year… What was this year to you? I will forever remember this year as my first full year of being a parent to three boys. And the first year I remember feeling like I might need to take out a second mortgage to pay for beef or bacon at the grocery store. Also, the first year I had to come to terms with my affinity for Taylor Swift’s radio hits. And had to say peace out to all those crazy mean Real Housewives {why you gotta be so roo-ood?}. It’s been eventful to say the least.
Per the uzh, and for my own personal satisfaction… before the calendar gets thrown out and replaced… here is a look back at some of my posts from 2014.
By the numbers, the postsests with the mostests.
That is… the posts that you’ve most loved to read:
And I almost peeled my face off
And regardless of numbers, in additions to those above, the posts that I most loved to write, and publish:
Barrett’s ABC’s for Kindergarten
Sanity Savers and Momtras For The SAHM
It’s More Than Just The Letters
The Fruits of Labor: Real Thoughts on Labor and Delivery
The posts I loved to write… as I went back through my year and the 185 posts rehashing my brainwaves… are the ones that I re-feel again as I read them. Some of your faves were mine… and some of my faves were barely glanced at but they mean the most to me because they are markers of moments in this crazy little life of mine.
Speaking of crazy…In the words of the brilliant and talented Andy Cohen… here’s what:
Though I am still breastfeeding in a per diem nature, I came to this realization the other day…
New Year’s 2009 – Pregnant
New Year’s 2010 – breastfeeding
New Year’s 2011 – Pregnant
New Year’s 2012 – breastfeeding
New Year’s 2013 – Found out we were pg on New Year’s Day
New Year’s 2014 – allllmost done breastfeeding
What on earth will I do with my belly and my boobs from here on out? Well, eat, and woo men, of course. Okay. Probably not. But! A new season is upon us, folks. And I’m excited to see what’s next.
What is your vision for 2015? I have a ho lotta new goals, thoughts, and plans for the next year. Like never shaving my legs {this is true} and not eating any sugar {this is false}. Not wearing makeup {partially true} and giving up 80’s music {BLASPHEMY}. Running every day {this is false} and managing my time on the ol’ Facebook {this may be true}. I hope that you’ll stay aboard the Baby On The Brehm Train in 2015!
I’ll be back next week with my word of the year {how’s that for a teaser?!}, my advice for our three amigos, and mucho mas. {And I doubt that was correct as my five semesters of Spanish in college did not exactly stick.}
Adios 2014! You’ve been a class-act!
