Have you ever stopped to think, in the middle of your day, about your very favorite moments?
When we were newly married, my very favorite moment was when the hubs would get home from work. And after the day apart, we could spend the evenings just being together.
I remember when I used to go to work, one of my very favorite things was the moment that all of my co-workers and I would gather around together and pow-wow in the mornings. There was more laughter and gabbing in those moments than we would generally get to have throughout the rest of the day.
I can remember when Barrett was a baby, I loved the times when the screaming ceased. And then, even moreso, when we got to his first holiday season and had the chance to dress him up for Halloween… order him a Christmas stocking… and make family traditions of our very own.
When Jonah entered the picture, my happiest moments involved watching the two boys together. Getting to know one another. Sharing the same spaces and the same memories.
And then, when Har came on the scene, I was so happy to have him home. To have all three of the boys together.
My favorite moments are family times when all of my siblings or Adam’s siblings are sitting around, chatting, laughing.
There are so many good moments in this life. But the ones like these are the very best moments to me.
And as I think about and collect my very favorite moments in my mind, I know that they are all centered around being with people I love. And while sometimes we are doing real “things” mostly it’s just due to the company I am keeping.
Today I am grateful for the people I get to know. For the friends I get to call mine. And for the family who is second to none. Because it is the people who make up your world that make your life complete. And without them, who knows what my favorite moments would be.
So… for today, I say to all of you, thank your for my favorite moments that you give me every day. I am the lucky one.
