We survived it. Our first spring break post having kids in school has come to a close. And we are all still {mostly} standing.
I don’t recall ever having “spring break” as a kid. Maybe I am incorrect in my memory? I seem to remember maybe getting the Friday before Easter and/or the Monday following, off of school. But now, the term spring break, is a serious undertaking. Both of the two oldest children were without classes for 10 days straight and man, did they play hard.
As I mentioned previously, we had a little skip/hop/jump to Des Moines for the first weekend but what else are you to do with an entire week off if you are not jetsetting to an island or the slopes or the nearest Holiday Inn as it seems the masses are? Well, my boys took to Spring Break like moths to a flame. With these shenanigans at age 6, 3, and 15 months, I am going to need some Xanax by the time high school hits.
Parts of the week, it seemed, they were totally in line.
Bead procurement.
Prepping for flippy cup. And pong. And the many red cup activities. {and yes. my grout used to be white. I think}
But with a little lottle bit o’ coffee and a good bit of laughter, we all survived.
Ten days without a break from one another was a good taste of how summer will go. And had me partially terrified//partially grateful that I get to partake in all these boysies’ nuttiness and hilarity on a daily basis. Especially given their current ages and still-present affinity for their mama. It also {may have} prompted me to research summer camps almost immediately.

*any depiction of drinking is merely for humor and should not result in any calls to child protective services. It should also be noted that I do make my kids wear clothing in the front yard. And ask that they always follow the traffic laws and posted speed limits.
